If you've never played any Warhammer game then you are missing out on one of the most popular collection of board games ever made.

Before reading this post or the linked review I would suggest you head over to your nearest Games Workshop and give it a try. The beautifully detailed figures and the dystopian worlds that surround these games are a minefield of heroic stories and evil deeds. I'm almost 100% positive that if you give it a go you will be hooked, though don't blame me for your newly inherited poorness.
Total War: Warhammer is the newest iteration of the Total War series from Sega. These games are always split into two parts, a global overview where you lead a mighty empire (or hoard) in all things economic and cultural. You fly high above the world moving your army's like chess pieces and working out the best strategy for world domination. The second part is a full RTS feature armies made from thousands of troops, you zoom into the action like some suicidal hawk, watching the destruction of your enemy's men as your heavy mounted cavalry charge down upon them screaming your name.
I have a small confession to make though, I've never been any good at the any of the Total War games. I find the strategies hard to implement and to be honest I normally get distracted watching my troops fight like a scene from Troy. But I still reckon I'm going to buy this new one. The overall look of the map as well as the battles have me salivating. Dwarves in their hundreds marching to settle scores from the Book of Grudges, Vampire Lords leading countless zombie armies to lay waste to whole kingdoms, the human Empire holding on to life as the Chaos spawns creep into their lands. If you have interest in war RTS, Warhammer or just watching mighty battles take place in front of your eyes then I can honestly recommend that you check this one out.
